Tips on a good art drawing

I just publish my latest gigglePanda drawing on Cartoosh Gallery, which was selected as Today's Best. So, I'd like to share with you the adorable gigglePanda and some of the ideas behind these drawings.

You may have found lots of panda pictures and drawings out there. But, very rarely you would find something like this. There are two key techniques that I used for these drawing.

First, keep it very simple. If you look at gigglePanda, you find it takes only a few strokes. I'm a true believer of simplicity. To do that, I chose to draw the panda from the back instead of the front like most of the pictures or drawings. The panda's back also makes it a perfect simple round shape. Finally, simplicity in coloring - black and white with a simple background shading.

Second, use the right pen. I chose charcoals to make the strokes look fury. Charcoals also offer a more traditional look than inks and fit well with the precious animal from China.

Hope you like the gigglePanda - the latest member who joins the gigglePets family. If you'd like to see more gigglePets and cartoons, visit giggleZOO at http://giggleZOO.blogspot.com.
